October Extra Life 2026 updates

Hail and well met! The time draws near... very near in fact. We are under a month away... but away from what? Well if you have been hanging around a while you already know what I'm talking about. If not, welcome to the magic that is Extra Life!

For those who do not know, Extra Life is a charity event where gamers sign up, pick a hospital they wish to play for, and setup a page to collect donations that help that hospital. The whole thing is run by the Children's Miracle Network and with that page, we have the ability to take our hobby of gaming and use it to help these kids: something I have been honored to be a part of since it's humble beginnings on a now defunct gaming website where it's community came together to honor a young girl who lost her life to cancer and to help the hospital who cared for her do as much as they can for other kids. That was 18 years ago now, and I am frankly beyond honored to have been a part of this from year 0 onward... and I have absolutely zero intention to ever stop.

But that brings us to why I am posting now. Normally I would have waited till the last post was off the front page, but today's news simply could not wait that long because we are setting the date for our 24 hour run that culminates the entire charity! And I wanted to share it here with you now, so save the date!

On this day at (Thursday) 8 AM (EST) I will begin playing and, outside meals and maybe a bathroom break or two, I am NOT stopping my Twitch Stream until 8AM the next day. And not only do we have a day, we will be having a special guest. My own little brother will be joining me for a portion of the stream as we play through the classic boomer-shooter Blood! So if you like old school shooters, you are in for a treat! So come on in and join the fun... and if you would like to help me help the sick kids, well my team page is right here for you too.

But on that note, I must get going. I have a lot to get to, but I just wanted to inform you all that the plans for this year have solidified. Goodnight, and see you all out there.
