Bioshock 2 (PC) Review

title 2

And once again, we put down the mouse on a game that has sat in my backlog for years. In fact this game sat on my backlog for almost a decade after getting it dirt cheap. At the time I had just finished the previous game and decided it wasn’t so much bad as I was disappointed with the developer repeating themselves… so to get more on the cheap? Why not? So I picked it up and let is sit around to play “one day.”

Sadly, it didn’t work out, as this game is just broken… too broken to enjoy.

Serious Sam II (PC) Review

title

Oh boy… where do I even start this game? This game is known to be the black sheep of the Serious Sam titles. But the first two games were so good, I could easily see an “ok” game take this title. In fact, my favorite series only enforced this with the much maligned Deus Ex: Invisible War. So, when I found this game on sale for literally a dollar and a half, I figured “what the hell” and added it to my collection. And in the name of the 100 Days of Gaming for Extra Life, I picked it up to play for anyone who cared to watch. I’m sorry… I mean, I hope you enjoyed it, but…. I was horribly wrong about this abysmal title and I am so sorry.

Borderlands 2 DLC: Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep (PC) Review

2014-03-16_00005

When the DLC for Borderlands 2 was coming out, I pretty much had no interest in any of them. Perhaps it was because I had played through all the DLC for the first game one after another and pretty much right after finishing the original, and frankly didn’t want to get worn out on such a good game again. Maybe they just didn’t offer me anything on the surface that interested me. I don’t know, but this expansion was different. I knew when I saw it I was going to have to play it. It just looked so different from anything else in the franchise. So I picked it up on a Steam sale when I got the chance. I then proceeded to begin playing it with a group of friends. However, that would be short-lived as we never finished the game as a group. Most of the guys moved on to the next game before we finished this one, so it remained partially complete, but never finished…

Until last week. Last week, found myself in an odd situation where South Park didn’t take nearly enough time to finish, and yet Deus Ex: The Fall was supposed to be out 2 weeks from then. It was an unexpected skip in my gaming schedule. So, without a clue how I wanted to fill it in, I found myself returning here. It was time to finish and review Tiny Tina’s adventure. So how was it? Why don’t you step inside…

Borderlands 2 (PC) Review

2012-11-25_00001

I will probably never forget my original adventures on Pandora. The original Borderlands game was a blast, and I had a lot of fun running around shooting stuff with the random people that graced my game… but towards the end, I had found myself wanting to play alone and just finish the game rather then keep doing side missions as everyone else wanted to. And by the time I finished three of the four expansions (I was warned about Mad Moxxie’s arena-based one and avoided it), I had had enough of Borderlands for a long long time.

Now after having bought the sequel on sale with Steam, I find myself looking on the game I just finished with a smile, though fully aware I should wait on diving into the DLC to avoid feeling so “done” as I did before. It was good, but please read on to see what Pandora offers you this time.

Weekly Roundup: 11/1/2012

Welcome back for another week’s worth of news. There has been a delay from the original planned date of this, but then again a hurricane has a way of doing that. So after a few days without power followed by Halloween, we are back with the gaming news that frankly, struck me as interesting. So what has happened? Why not read on?

The Darkness II (PC) Review

What would you do if you had a deamon that could make you a god? What if you knew the horrifying price of such a thing? Jackie knows, and his story is laid out in this game. So how was it? Why don't you read and find out?

The Darkness (PS3) Review

What would you do if you had an inner deamon? I don't mean that in a metaphorical sense. I mean literally, a deamon living inside you that made itself known and lent you it's power on your 21st birthday. This is the core question Jackie will have to answer as you make your way through this game. So what was his choice? And how good a game was it? Come see.
