Overlord II (PC) Review

When the dice pulled this game in, there wasn't a question in my mind. After all, I was "technically" in the middle of the series, and I honestly enjoyed the hell out of the first one, so why not? Well, the game was going to show me why not before long. Come on in.

Cthulhu Saves Christmas (Switch) Review

Merry Christmas, everyone! It's been a good long while I've played a game according to season, but I got my hands of this one on the switch last year and felt wrong playing it months later. So I set it aside, and the moment December started, this was next in line. And while I knew it wouldn't be a long game, I was more then ok with that. I knew it would be a good time: and it was... but it definitely had it's own surprises for me.

Darkestville Castle (PC) Review

When the dice brought this game up as a possible choice, I smiled to myself. I had shown off the game for Extra Life previously as I played the demo on my Xbox, and I already had a good idea of what I was expecting. This game did NOT disappoint, even if it doesn't last long.

2000 to 1: a Space Felony (PC) Review

https://redsectorshutdown.blogspot.com/2020/03/2000-to-1-space-felony-pc-review.html

Curiosity is a powerful drug. And with a name like this showing up one day in the Humble Bundle, how could I not be curious about it? Still it could not outshine what I was playing at the time, so it went into the backlog for a couple years. But among my online groups it turns out I was not the only one curious about this title... so let's see what the hell is going on.

Little Inferno (PC) Review

20161022222055_1

Back in the day when the Wii was at it’s height of popularity, I had gotten one mainly for the third Metroid Prime game that was due to launch for it. But that was not the only game I got for it, starting with games like Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess or Conduit. However, at the time, a little download exclusive did catch my eye called World of Goo. This game was a physics building game which was bright, colorful, and actually fun. The developer impressed me, especially with how meta they brought the whole package at the end.

So when I found this game was launching, I was interested enough to check it out… and was greeted with a cartoon of kids celebrating how they were burning their toys and memories in a fire place, ultimately burning the place down to a catchy little tune you might expect in a toy-commercial on TV back in the 80s. I laughed, probably a lot more then should have, and showed it to everyone I could. As soon as it was on sale, I picked up a copy, and it got lost in the backlog.

Now as we come to the end of the #100daysofgaming for Extra Life, the game showed up in my selection and I could not resist. I am glad I did not.

Dungeons (PC) Review

Before I begin talking about this game, I do need to give a disclaimer. I did not get very far in it, but then I've never been the greatest at dungeon management games. Still, I played for a few weeks, and I think I can give you an idea of what to expect. So please, if you have an interest in this game, have a listen. It might be worth hearing what you are in for.
