The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition (PC) Review

For all the times a game comes up where I have some history, for once we have a blank slate. I knew the game is supposed to be good, so when Epic offered it for free, I decided "yeah, I'll take it." It was that simple with that little thought necessary. But as I finish the game, I'm kinda glad I didn't give it any more thought. I would not call it a must play, but I had a lot of fun with it.

We Went Back (PC) Review

With the Extra Life marathon come and gone (and incidentally, they are still taking donations till the end of the year so if you want to help us heal sick kids, there is still time... and thank you VERY much), it was time to fill in the space a completed game during the marathon would open and the dice offered something fairly interesting this time: a free title offered on Steam featuring a time-loop of horror in space. How could I say no to that?

Dead Space 3 (PC) Review

I did not pay a dime for this game. It was something I was watching and would have bought on a sale, but I did not need to. Rather, I chose it from one of a list to receive for free as an "apology" for how bad the launch of Sim City was. So I put it in my list to get to and let it sit out there as I had not even played Dead Space 2 yet. But as I've chewed through a good old fashioned Steam backlog, this all has changed and I finally got to the conclusion of the trilogy. And while it definitely feels different then the last to, I would be hard pressed to say it was bad. Although I will admit to a major issue in it, that we will talk about as we go on. Come on inside.

2000 to 1: a Space Felony (PC) Review

Curiosity is a powerful drug. And with a name like this showing up one day in the Humble Bundle, how could I not be curious about it? Still it could not outshine what I was playing at the time, so it went into the backlog for a couple years. But among my online groups it turns out I was not the only one curious about this title... so let's see what the hell is going on.

DarkStar One (PC) Review

Sometimes, you really do just need to play something different. Having just finished with several smaller games, I was ready for something bigger and I hadn't done much with real space flight sims... ever... so what the hell, why not? I am SO glad I took this chance.

Deadspace 2 (PC) Review

2014-04-12_00003

This has been a weird couple of months for me game-wise. Never have I been excited at so many games coming out at once. We are now in May and I’ve already played through four games I was thrilled to see released and wanted the first day! And even as we speak two more just hit the market! I’m usually lucky if three such games hit in a single year. But at the same time, I had space between titles this time, so I found myself looking at my ever-growing backlog. So while I waited for the next one, I decided to pick up this little gem and play it through. After all, I enjoyed the hell out of the original, so why wouldn’t I like this title?

Long story short, I loved it. Come on in and lets talk.
